My Story…

I have lived with migraine since childhood. As I grew older, I progressed from episodic to chronic migraine and have now been diagnosed with intractable chronic migraine. Since August 15, 2021, my migraine pain has never fully gone away. Frequent migraine attacks despite trying (and failing) multiple forms of medications and holistic treatments. Chronic fatigue, brain fog and light sensitivity. Constantly hoping the next treatment will work. These are my baseline. Living with daily pain along with the unpredictability that comes with it has drastically affected the quality of my life.  Migraine is the second leading cause of disability worldwide yet there is a severe shortage of specialized care to treat those of us diagnosed with this complex, neurological disorder.

I am participating in Miles For Migraine to help raise money to support the training of new providers going into the field of headache medicine. Any and all donations are very much appreciated!  Migraine is an invisible disease surrounded by stigma. Finding a group of people like those in the Miles For Migraine community who understand what I am going through has been invaluable to me. I am grateful for the support, programs, education and advocacy. Thank you, Miles For Migraine!
